LOOKING for video editing services?

If you are seeking a professional to edit your YouTube videos, I am available for freelance commissions. Pricing is typically project-specific, so please feel free to negotiate rates with me in private. To view examples of my work, you can visit my Portfolio or my YouTube Channel.

Upon commissioning my services, I will provide an invoice via PayPal. For details on the commissioning process, please refer to the Payment and Commission Terms section on this page.

Please note that I do not accept unpaid projects or work to be paid in "exposure", unless I voluntarily seek out a project and choose to participate.

FREELANCE STATUS: OPEN

VIDEO EDITING

The average rate for freelance video editing is approximately $40 per hour. My typical turnaround time is one week from the start date of your project, though this estimate may vary depending on my current workload.

For a 10-minute video, my fees range from $300 to $400, depending on the complexity of the project. Each additional 10 minutes would incur a similar charge. If you have a specific budget in mind, I am open to discussing potential arrangements. Repeat clients are eligible for discounted rates and greater negotiating flexibility.

PRICING
- $40 per hour
OR
- $300 - $400 per 10 minutes of finished video
- Revisions: $30 per hour, unless the error is on my part (in which case, revisions are free).

Please note that I specialize in editing pre-filmed and pre-produced content; I do not provide filming services. You will need to supply the footage you wish for me to edit. While I have some experience with VFX and motion graphics, I recommend hiring a dedicated VFX editor for such specialized tasks.

The videos displayed below showcase some of my freelance editing work.

How to Commission Me

You can either e-mail me at [email protected], or you can fill out a freelance interest form.

If you send an email, please make sure to include the following information. I cannot begin work or give you a quote without this information.
  • Your Name or Business/YouTube Channel Name
  • Your budget (if you have one).
  • Your Paypal e-mail (so I can send you an invoice).
  • How long you estimate the final video will be.
  • High-res files of your company assets (logo, character stills, etc.).
  • Footage to be used in the video.
  • Examples of the edit style that you want for the video (this helps me give you a more accurate quote).
  • Social Media platform that the content is being made for (for formatting purposes).
Disclaimer: I reserve the right to refuse work and/or discontinue a project at any time, with or without explanation. This may include, but is not limited to, concerns regarding client conduct, the nature of the content, or refusal of payment.

Payment & COMMISSION TERMS

  • I accept payment exclusively through PayPal and will provide an invoice for the agreed-upon price (including sales tax). If there are any changes to the invoice, I will adjust it accordingly and discuss potential changes with you beforehand.
  • Because my freelance work is filed yearly under my small business, I do charge a sales tax for the state of Connecticut. This fee will be reflected on your invoice.
  • A 50% deposit is required before I begin work on your commission, with the remaining 50% due prior to the delivery of the final files. Once I receive the second half of the payment, I will send you the high-resolution final files. All in-progress videos will retain a watermark to prevent upload before payment.
  • You will receive two exports of your final cut: the ProRes Master (4K) and the H.264 export (1080p HD). These exports will allow you to create further versions without quality loss. While I can produce additional exports, please note that there may be an extra cost based on the quantity requested.
  • Please note that I do not provide clients with the Premiere project file; only the final video exports are delivered. The work file remains my intellectual property, and I reserve the right to keep it confidential.
  • I am available for communication throughout the commission process via email and/or Discord. I will provide my Discord information upon request after finalizing project details via email.
  • Unless otherwise stated, I do not work on weekends and am only available Monday through Friday for questions or project updates. I generally do not respond to inquiries during weekends or major holidays. My working hours are 12pm - 9pm Eastern Time (EST).
  • Final files can be uploaded for download on your choice of Dropbox, Vimeo, or Google Drive. Please be aware that I will delete your project file(s) 48 hours after you confirm successful receipt and download. If you lose the files and need to re-download them, please contact me, and I will re-upload them. Due to online storage costs, I cannot keep files uploaded indefinitely, but I do retain finished projects on my local drives for re-uploading as needed.
  • Client and revision notes can be submitted via the Vimeo notes function (your video will be visible only to you and me) or through email/Discord. Each draft will include a burned-in timecode for your convenience (this will be removed in the final export). This practice facilitates clear communication for revisions, as relying on your video player’s timecode may lead to inaccuracies and miscommunication.
  • All preview files will have a watermark or timecode burned in. Once I receive final payment, these will be removed from the final deliverables.
  • If this is a YouTube video, I kindly ask that you credit me as the editor in the video description. You can link my website or credit me as Lea Carosella—whichever you prefer.
  • For any on-screen projects, I should be listed in the credits as Lea Carosella.
  • I reserve the right to feature any commission that I've worked on in my portfolio.
  • For projects that require urgent turnaround, a rush fee will apply.
  • If I feel that I must stop work on your project due to misconduct on your part, I will provide you with whatever has been completed and retain the initial payment. A full refund will only be issued if I have not yet started work on your commission. All communication logs will be archived and provided to PayPal in the event of a refund dispute.
  • If I stop working with you due to misconduct, I will not accept further commission requests from you. I will also not engage in further attempts of contact once project files have been delivered. Evidence of misconduct will only be made public if the individual attempts defamation.
  • While monetary tips upon completion and delivery of the video files are appreciated and encouraged, they are not required.
